At INNOVATE Albion we are excited about the potential that all students have within them to think creatively, solve problems, and work together and we recognize that sometimes young girls want to learn these lessons with other girls. That is why INNOVATE Albion is continuing Girls Who Code Club this fall for girls entering 3rd through 5th grades and expanding to include a club for students in grades 6-8.
We are now accepting interest for our Spring 2023 sessions set to begin in early April If you are interested in more information or getting registered for 2023 complete the form below.
“Girls Who Code is a national non-profit organization working to close the gender gap in technology. Our programs educate, equip, and inspire girls with the computing skills they’ll need to pursue 21st-century opportunities”
What Is A Girls Who Code Club?
Girls Who Code Clubs are spaces where girls can join our sisterhood of supportive peers and use Computer Science to change the world. When you join a Club, you will learn by reading excerpts from our books Learn to Code and Change the World and The Friendship Code, practice new skills by completing fun and simple online coding tutorials, and build community through interactive activities with the rest of your Club.
What Will I Learn?
Clubs help build the foundational skills and understanding of computer science concepts and sisterhood through a reading discussion and coding activities. In order to build the skills you need to make an impact, you will learn how to code from our fun online tutorials and activities that will help you build fun projects to share with friends and family.
I’m Interested, What’s Next?
If you know a young girl entering grades three through five this year, share this opportunity with them! Your next step is to complete the form below. Our Spring 2023 session of Girls Who Code at INNOVATE Albion will begin in early April. Get started today!
